About Lynx User Administration

As Lynx supports several login options, including multifactor authentication (MFA), the way your practice manages Lynx users depends on how your practice is configured to authenticate for Lynx access.

Authentication

Authentication is the process of verifying a user's identity before granting them access to a system, network, or resource, and there are different ways practices may implement Lynx authentication.

  • McKesson's Identity Provider (IDP) via Okta (aka "non-federated")

  • Practice's Identity Provider (IDP) via various vendors (aka "federated")

Permissions

Regardless of how users are created and the system that is performing the authentication, Lynx permissions are configured in the Lynx application and control which sections and features of the application the user can access.
