About Setting Up Single Sign-On (SSO)

What does Federated mean?

This guide is for users at practices that are enabling Single Sign-On (SSO) for Lynx via their practice's existing Identity Provider (IDP). This configuration is often referred to as Federated.

There are many different Identity Providers (IDPs) practices may use, such as Okta, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Google, and even Facebook. Regardless of the IDP your practice uses, enabling Single Sign-On (SSO) allows Lynx users to use the same user account (and multifactor authentication, if enabled) they use to log into their practice computers and email, for example, to sign in to Lynx.

Username Self-Migration

Users that have a "legacy" Lynx login (i.e., from before your practice started enabling SSO), follow the steps in this guide to connect your legacy Lynx login to your practice user account.

Your practice's IDP uses security methods to make sure the person logging in with your Username is really you. These security methods could include entering a Validation Code sent to your phone, clicking a "Magic Link" in an email, or using a mobile app on a mobile device.

Enter Your Lynx Username

Enter your existing Lynx Username and click NEXT.

Enter Your Lynx Password

Enter your existing Lynx Password and click LOGIN.

Defer or Continue?

If you are presented with the option to DEFER your username migration, the date your migration must be completed is shown just above the DEFER and CONTINUE buttons.

To proceed with the migration, click CONTINUE.

Enter Your Practice Username

If your practice has initiated the Lynx username migration, you are prompted to enter your existing, practice user ID under Username and click NEXT or SUBMIT.

Verify with your password

Enter your existing, practice Password and click Verify.

Authentication for Lynx

Use the security methods required by your practice to authenticate and link your practice user account with your Lynx login.

Migration Complete

When you see the Lynx home page (Lynx logo is in the upper-left corner), you have successfully logged in, and your practice user account is set up for Lynx.
