About Counting Inventory
Whether your practice counts inventory daily, weekly, or more sporadically, this guide provides instructions for a physical inventory count to help confirm item counts are accurate.
With the options below, you can learn to do a full inventory count, a count of a subset of your inventory, count a single item, or just confirm the counts of the items with recent transactions.
Satellite Sites Model
Some practices purchase and receive items at a single, main location, then transfer the inventory to be given that day to satellite treatment locations.
In some cases, at the end of the day, remaining inventory is transferred back to the main location, so inventory does not need to be maintained at satellite locations that may not be open every day.
The processes in this guide can help satellite treatment locations identify and count the inventory to be returned to the practice's main location at the end of the day.
